We've discussed me needing major work on here but I really wanna try and pinpoint how much longer I can go. Also it doesn't run very hot and it think that really helps the oil pressure stay up at 38-40. Usually it runs 160-190 with the occasional spike at 210 loaded and pulling. At a full 210 at the end of OCI it drops to 34-38 psi but on a fresh change it's always 38-40. I do have a fair bit of blowby but the truck runs really well. 1.2 million miles with no overhaul that I'm aware of but I've always wondered if maybe it was inframed before we got it. Everyone here says I should just stay on top of maintenance instead of trying to trade it for something else. I really wanna get as much insight as I can here and see what the next step is. The biggest question I have is should I be afraid of engine failure where I am? As always I'm here to learn.

"just a few more miles .... just a few more miles ,... just a few more .. it isn't burning any oil,,... runs smooth as a button,.. no vibration,.. sounds and runs great...I baby it along and I will just go another few months and save my cash up so that i can get an inframe done right and have saved up some money ... it just runs so good and I baby it , so I can't see it just suddenly failing like you guys talk about ... Like how bad really is it?"

THE famous set of words...

You were warned.. Maybe you get lucky, ... but most don't.

At 1.2 million miles, no inframe, and no one doing the rod/main bearings back when it only had 800k on it,... your odds of making it another 6 months to a year are lower than going to the casino with $30,000 and blowing it on the roulette wheel.

-- i very well remember one lady that was at Mr. Hags one day (about 2 years ago),.. her 870 purred like a kitten, and had right at 1.2 million miles on it too ... I said same thing to her... she said .. ok, Sound like good advice, I will have it done in next few months, i have always babied my truck and never driven it hard... had this thing for many years and know it has been very well cared for ... ....

--she made it out west, middle of nowhere, about 4 weeks later and a piston went straight through the block, zero warning whatsoever. <- put her out of buisness ... she did not have the money for a recon engine.
