Different engines also use different crankshafts and other components too. Also,.. it is not just the engine block itself that dictates coolant flow but the head gasket and head as well. Just an example, The CM570, 870 head gaskets have larger passageways in the head gasket itself at each cylinder for coolant flow around each liner vs. newer engines with EGR coolers.
