Fan is coming on to often. All the gauges read normal a/c is off or on no difference. There is nothing consistent sometimes stays off for a few seconds or a few hours. Any ideas where to start looking.

I had the same problem after having AC serviced, to much refrigerant in the system. I had it bled off and problem was solved. Or it may be your AC high pressure switch up by your CAC malfunctioning.

You might have an air leak to the Fan Hub Clutch. Spray some soapy water or Windex on the air hose and fittings that go to the fan clutch and see if it bubbles when you start the truck and air pressure comes up.

Would it cycle even with a/c off?

No air leak it cycles like a switch

If your A/C is off and your fan is cycling too much, you most likely have a problem with the fan clutch, air leak going to the fan clutch, or possibly coolant temp sensor. What does the coolant temp gauge read on the instrument cluster when the fan kicks on?

Gauges reads normal temp reads around 185 fan clutch is good no leaks

2009 Peterbilt 386 631596 miles. Fan clutch has been replaced around acouple years ago.
