3225 computer issue

So I got this dam code I can’t get ride of. I bought a new purge valve installed plugged in insite did regen check engine light still on. And when I try to reset computer says the ecm adjustment can not be performed when engine is running. But it not running any ideas. I took off dozer and cleaned it up aswell

In Data Monitor, what does the reading for "Engine Operating State" say with the key on but engine off?

Does the engine have any kind of delete or custom programming?

I have seen plenty of bad deletes or corruption make engine think its running when it is not.

Could also be a wiring issue, or the ECM needing an update on its software.

Also, what make/model/year truck and engine?
