Front Main Seal Job Who's done it, on cm871? I'm down to the removing the crankshaft adapter. What a nightmare. Anyone have any experience and or know where to get the tool? User's Signature: Owner Operator '08 Pete 386 ISX15 - Ravens 48' flatbed '85 Pete 359 - Retired to save the planet

RE: Front Main Seal Job Make sure to loosen front timing cover where seal goes in so it aligns properly to front cover with new seal. Also if your in 400k mile range or higher consider replacing the vibration dampner, I would on my truck. If you try everything and no luck at removing dampner, get a cut off wheel and cut a square around the crankshaft without damaging crank and it will loosen up to where you can remove it, then install new dampner. This is my 2 cents from my experience and everyone has their own methods but thats what i do instead of spending days and possibly damaging it anyways. Hope this helps and Merry Christmas!!!
