RE: Anybody running electric APU? Worthless in high temperatures. But u had the 1st generation nite system. In summer it'd run maybe 6 hrs then shut down for low battery. Wintertime was wonderful though.

RE: Anybody running electric APU? I talk with many drivers that have trucks 500,000 miles and up, and some have the battery powered AC unit which has not worked in years and most dealerships either can't or won't work on them. Maybe the newer systems have better after-sale support and parts availability? I would probably choose a diesel APU if I ran in the hot south area. Up north, I would consider a battery powered unit.

RE: Anybody running electric APU? Snailexpress, I don't know how I would add a controller box between the A/C unit and the batteries if I ran that A/C unit. Some how I would have to have a connection in between them to recharge the batteries and control the power from the batteries to the A/C control panel. That set up you have has definetly grabbed my interest. I like the idea that it will run by generator and shore power connection.
