Fuel water separator

Hey guys need some help I have a 2011 isx15 2250 Pete and I noticed on my water fuel seperator when I run the truck it sucks all the diesel almost to the bottom of the canister so I pressed the air bleed valve and the fuel rises back up to the top as I hold the bleeder than when i let it go it drops to the bottom of the canister .. can some one help .. the engine makes like a alarm type noise faintly than goes away than comes back idk if it has to do with the fuel .. can some one help
