the more you up the torque, the shorter the engine lifespan... by a LOT!

At 2050 torque, you'de be doing good to get 650k miles out of a highway truck as it is before the head had to come of it vs. close to a million miles at 1750-trq.

It is far cheaper to replace the rears with a better spec than it is to torture your engine.

Thats what my thoughts were... the more power these guys want out of the motor, the shorter the overall life span is. You'd think once you explain to the driver that you can get a million miles outa your motor vs. 600k they'd want to leave it alone. But they keep on wanting more power... I must be missing something. Most of these guy's trucks are their paychecks, you'd think they'd want to keep them outa the shop.

A side note, most of these trucks aren't flat landers, they fly through the rolling hills of Appalachia. Maybe thats why they're hunting HP? Would re-gearing trucks still be better?

What application are you running? 2050 isn't really needed in most situations and can be overkill.

Do you have an OS number for the 565 file? I'd love to compare them.

RE: CM2350 factory file comparrisons...
what is the difference between cummins X15 performance 565hp and X15 productivity 565hp?? I want the 605hp rating simply bc it does not roll off torque to early but if the productivity series has other compromises then maybe its not worth it idk??

and where did you get this statement from?...

That statement does not make any kind of actual sense.

Also, the higher the torque settings, the shorter the lifespan of the engine will be. -- BETTER SPEC'D REARS are the answer to slinging around heavy loads, NOT TORTURING THE ENGINE WITH HIGH TORQUE AT LOW RPM's.

RE: CM2350 factory file comparrisons...
We already talked so we're good there. But for someone reading this. I totally agree that low rpm high torque (lugging) is bad. What I mean is if two engines have the same torque ratings but two different HP ratings I want the higher HP rating bc preferably with a lower torque rating actually bc where the ecm likes to produce power is at a higher rpm. I don't have any use for an engine that produces 2050lbft torque from 1100-1400rpm then dies off. Id rather have an engine that produces peak torque at 1400 rpm then SLOWLY reduces as you increase rpm. This is how you reliably produce power in an engine without destroying it.

I'm new to using insite. How does one change their file from EF10059 to EF10064? Just curious so that I dont accidently change it.

If a persons truck has any kind of custom (or de-mandate) programming in it, then it will get lost of you try to flash the ecm with new software.

To change from one program to a different program in Insite, it requires a "fleet count" to unlock the feature and allow such action.

I was worried that it would be easier then accidently entering a random set of numbers/letters that so happened to match passcode they stumbled upon. Thanks for setting my mind at ease Rawze!! LOL
