05 CM870 Hi guys. Turning the key but no crank. So I checked the battery box fuse and yes it was broken so I replaced it. I checked all the fuse and relay in the fuse box and they all work. I also hear that click sound from the fuse box when I turn the key so i Know its fine. I can bridge the starter and it fires up all the time. Do i need a new starter?? Would it even be starting if the starter is bad?? Thanks

RE: 05 CM870 Rawze the truck is a 9900I Eagle, 2005, 1.3M KM roughly 840k miles, Canadian truck. Been sitting mostly for the 2 year. I occasionally start it but the batteries are weak so I have to put booster pack on it all the time or charger on it. I guess that might be why the fuse burnt because I had to put the booster on override once or twice because the batteries were undervolted at 3V after sitting

Its more then +24volts shoved onto a +12volts system. - Seen it plenty ... DON'T EVER DO THAT AGAIN!!... IF THE BATTERIES ARE NO GOOD... REPLACE THEM!. If they are that dead.. then let them charge up properly instead of being impatient. If they refuse to take a charge after an hour, ...like said above ... replace them. They are only going to put someone stranded on the side of the road with an expensive towing bill (or standing in a parking lot with a pair of jumper cables in their hands) at some point. And if a truck is going to sot for weeks, then disconnect the batteries and put a decent quality/size solar charger on them. ref: https://amzn.to/4biN15h User's Signature: ->: What I post is just my own thoughts and Opinions! --- I AM Full Of S__T!.

RE: 05 CM870 Whenever mine started clicking in the past..............It's best to replace both starter with a new solenoid. And make sure you buy the one thats assigned to our vin#.
