x15 crankcase filter

Hello everyone... I’m looking for some advice on X15 crankcase filter. I doubt it’s actually “maintenance free”. I know some people who have problems with the X15 filter and some who don’t, I would like to hear about other experiences. I’m trying to find what is the best option… Can you gut the X15 filter? Or do you just change the filter every so often? I’m guessing just like the ISX you don’t want to remove the filter altogether. Thanks in advance for the help!

You can gut the filter, it’s a bit more of a pain than previous filters I felt. I usually write on it on the back side so somewhere down the road doesn’t put a “normal” one back in etc.
