X15 2450 injector harness issues
Hello all again. I have a x15 2450 in my shop and had codes for injector 1, 2, 3 driver solenoid current below normal or open circuit. Or front bank. Now I checked all wiring from ecm up to pass through which was good. Opened up and checked wiring to the three injectors which appeared ok. While ohming out injectors #2 was jumping around. I took the screw top wires off and codes cleared except for injector 2 which would be normal. I changed the injector and tested all. Everything now ok. Put all back together and an hour later it came back for front bank. Checked all again and found injector 1 was causing system to throw all three codes for front front bank or cylinders 1 2 and 3. I left wires off of injector 1 and alligator clipped them to leads to the old injector 2 I had removed. All codes cleared and ran good just not firing on 1 because it was not hooked up. Put the screw tops back onto injector 1 and codes came back. So for giggles I alligator clipped the wires to injector 1 and all ran good. Screwed them back onto and codes came back. Figured it was the harness so changed the wires to the pass through. Still had codes. Removed them and alligator clipped them again and codes cleared with good running engine. Now has anyone come across the screw connectors giving problems before. The injector works fine and so does the old 2 injector while alligator clipped to the posts just admits up when the screw connectors are put on. This was all 2 days ago and now I have another truck in doing the same thing. Is it known for Cummins to have break downs on these screw connectors giving problems.

RE: X15 2450 injector harness issues
not normally.

Has the software in the ecm been updated to latest?. Sometimes there are updates to the software that can effect things like that... making it too sensitive.

It can still also still be a wiring harness or plug issue. It is a high voltage system, and if there is bleed-thru in the plug, or in the harness somewhere, then ghost issues can be set like that.

Also, do the injector part#'s match the engine ser#?>.. and does the program in the ecm match exactly, the program required via its engine ser#?.

and are they OEM certified injectors?... and not something repaired at a shop, or were ordered online (trash from china), etc?.
