CM2350 Tappets
Hello I need some advice on my CM2350 fuel pump, I’m looking at rebuilding it within the next few weeks (truck is getting near 400,000 miles.) wondering how to know if the tappets need changed? If I’m in there doing the barrels and plungers anyways should I do the tappets too or is that a waste of money?
Thanks In Advance

I thought you could only purchase the tappets. Last I checked (although its been a couple years), the barrel and plungers only came with a head assembly.

From what I understand there’s certain fuel pumps that you can get parts and certain pumps you can’t get parts but I have found complete rebuild kits (genuine Cummins) for both the 2250 and 2350. Not cheap but cheaper than a pump head.

Thats about where I was for a reman head assembly back in 4/2021 for my cm2350. The total cost of parts with all needed items for the job was 2110.50.

Looking at 1450 for parts and about 2500 for a reman pump head. Dunno what route to go, sure as heck I’ll rebuild mine then a check valve will go.
