if it is not a leaky injector then it can highly likely valve guide seals and not leaky fuel.

if it cannot be found, the pulling the exhaust manifold away from the cylinder head and cranking it up to see what cylinder smokes.

So I finally had to pull the manifold and #6 smokes… how true is it that a messed up turbo messes up the engine? No wonder the place where I got the truck kept saying no warranty.

Wow..... your CAC will need replaced because it's going to have a lot of aluminum debris in it, make sure you replace it with original OEM parts not aftermarket.

It's possible some of that debris got into cylinder 6 and wreaked some havoc causing it to smoke. You could pull #6 injector and look in the bore with a scope. I would also loosen all the valve train up and pressurize the entire engine with 35 psi to see if there's valve damage.

That turbine side is toast! CAC maybe spared unless the compressor wheel looks equally toast. Definitely check for valve damage.

At a quick glance I thought it was the compressor side. Yea your CAC is probably fine as he said.

Yes that’s the hot side, couldn’t even hear this happening I 100% brought the truck like this. It always had issues pulling up hill.

Nah that’s part was perfect lol but the turbo is done! Won’t even work for a rebuild or core.

something went thru that turbo. That is not damage from wear. You need to remove the manifold, and everything upstream of that turbo to ensure there is no metal anywhere.

WHY????... WHAT MORONS!!!... PULL THE GODD$AMN INJECTORS AND BOROSCOPE IT FIRST !!!!...

A boroscope and bottom end inspection will reveal anything wrong internally. Take it apart just to look and it might be a HUGE waste of moneys. Sure, there is a chance that it may need to be rebuilt due to internal damage,. ... but never make blind-man assumptions like that.


and if the head has to come off it.. then it will need a full inframe simply due to disturbing everything. Here is how it should be done.. no less... and good luck finding someone willing to do it 100% right.. because most mechanics are nothing but speed-gun happy hacks!.
