CM871 to CM570 Odometer Issue Hey all, I just bought a 2009 W900 that originally had a CM871 ISX that was swapped with an older ISX dated 2002 which is a CM570 I guess? Anyways, the first issue I'm having is that the odometer isn't reading any mileage. The display for the odo is lit but only shows dashes "------" while the truck is running. However, it does show mileage when the truck is off but I don't think it ever counts past that reading. Is there any way to get the odo ticking miles? The PO and his mechanic were unable to figure it out but hoping for any info on this. Thanks

RE: CM871 to CM570 Odometer Issue cm570 barely had J1939 on it. It is mostly J1708. A 2009 truck is going to be mostly J1939. User's Signature: ->: What I post is just my own thoughts and Opinions! --- I AM Full Of S__T!.

Right, are you saying this ECM isn't able to communicate with the truck properly? Everything seems to work besides the odo. It does have a diagnostics port hooked up but not sure which one it is visually. According to the PO it is capable of running ELD.

RE: CM871 to CM570 Odometer Issue You probably need one of those datalink translator boxes wired into your truck so the J1708 and J1939 can talk to each other. It's what's used to get the cluster and dash switches to work properly.

Even the on board diagnostics tells me it's not receiving mileage data. Also confirmed it does have a J1939 (black) under the dash but don't have anything to plug into it yet.

RE: CM871 to CM570 Odometer Issue maybe the odo itself has gone bad?. User's Signature: ->: What I post is just my own thoughts and Opinions! --- I AM Full Of S__T!.

Not sure, the display seems to be working, it just isn't showing numbers except when the truck is off, kinda weird. Maybe it's a sensor issue? I gotta get the the truck in for DOT inspection so I'll see if the shop has any ideas. Maybe get the truck plugged in and see what the ECM says for miles.
