| 2003 ISC 8.3 in RV with bad ECM Hi My ECM has died on me, I am stuck off on a side street. But probably won't be able to stay here long. I have bought a used ECM with no programming on it. I have Insite 8.7 but can't connect to get the proper Incal because Cummins have taken the servers down. I have all of the Incal DVD images. But I can't get them to load into Insite 8.7 I see Calterm is the is the solution. I have a template made in Insite. How do I find the correct incal from the DVDs? I know my current ECM code which is J91051.18 how does one obtain that CT SW. | |||

| RE: 2003 ISC 8.3 in RV with bad ECM You can find c@lterm from outer corners of internet. How dead is the ecm? It still communicates? Maybe you can use that term program to make backup and transfer over to next ecm. | |||

I hope you got it real cheap.. and that it doesn't matter that much if you end up on the side of the road again ... because used ECM's on commercial equipment = nothing but headaches in the end. Jumping over a dollar to save 10 cents ... that is what your doing. User's Signature: ->: What I post is just my own thoughts and Opinions! --- I AM Full Of S__T!.

I wasn't trying to save money, it was just available, well after a 2 hour each way drive. My problem is I am 1200 miles from home and was heading that way yesterday, which was Friday afternoon. My options, were to wait until next Wednesday to get a remanufactured ECM. My wife and I are supposed to be at work on Monday and since it is now Saturday evening, that is not obviously going to happen. My thought was if I could at least get it running, I will them send it in to a reputable place for refresh. A bit more money than buying a refurbished when you send your core in. Then I will have a spare. It only has to go 300 miles to where I store it in Florida.

Yes it still communicates. I did not know that term could back up to be used on another unit. I have been familiarizing myself with the program. It sees my current ECM but doesn't show the serial, which I am unsure of why and concerns me. In Site does see the serial. I was going to flash the new one with the most currrent cal from Q S and then put my template back on as the thread from Rawze suggests.

| RE: 2003 ISC 8.3 in RV with bad ECM Rawze talks about backing up the program, I have C T 4.7 and don't see that as an option, is it something only available in the newer versions? | |||

| RE: 2003 ISC 8.3 in RV with bad ECM I am an IT guy and I am surprised how everyone even figures their way through the all of this crappy software. Most of my problem is I believe because I am trying to deal with a 23 year old ECM that Cummins doesn't care about anymore. So my l ECM is a CM554, C T only has ISB and QSB/C modules listed for that product, so I can't do the backup. And actually no listings at all for ISC. The ECM code is J91051.18 which is an ENC code and again the only ENC is for the ISB I don't think I can put pictures here to show. Also a FYI for anyone else. I downloaded and went through every single DVD that was released in December 2025 and the J91051 is no longer on them. I was looking to make sure I was putting on the newest calibration. That is what you referred to as them deleting older cals I guess. Good thing I have the 2022 DVD's. | |||
