| Hi all, We recently rerated one of our trucks from 600hp 1850ft LH10035.04 to 600hp 2050ft LH10082.00. All configuration in features and parameters has been verified the same as before the new calibration. We have lost our cruise control function when driving, the idle up still works when stationary, clutch and brake switches are working, the ecu is seeing road speed and I can see the cruise control switches operating in data monitor. Anyone have any suggestions or any more information on the workings of the cruise control system? Thank's in advance. | |||

| RE: X15E3 CM2350 Cruise Control fault The template(vehicle settings) backup/restore feature in Insite is known for forgetting settings sometimes. Especially if any custom settings were made in the vehicles past. Did you make a full ecm back (upload) using the Cterm software before changing the programing out?. This is the only way to ensure that no settings get lost. Someone should do this as a first step any time they plan on re-flashing any ecu. If not then it sounds like you likely need to take it to a stealers$it to have the original vehicle settings recovered that were lost. | RE: X15E3 CM2350 Cruise Control fault Thanks for getting back to me Rawze, yes I have ecm backup with Cterm before and after programming, can I compare these 2 files to see if anything has been missed with Cterm? Or is this something you would need to look at? | |||

I can look and likely spot what went missing fairly easily. I PM'd you my e-mail address. User's Signature: ->: What I post is just my own thoughts and Opinions! --- I AM Full Of S__T!.

Or is this something you would need to look at? Of the 2 files that you sent me,.. they both have the same settings in them for cruise, etc. It looks like the settings are missing from before you took your first backup via CT. If the vehicle settings have been unfortunately lost forever, there is only one way to get them back. Blank out the ECM so that the incorrect/missing cannot be re-used, and take it to the stealers%$it for the truck make and have them recovered to original factory settings from when the truck was built. - Again, this is why I always encourage someone to make a full backup of the ECM via CT software before anyone touches it. I ask because this engine is not the original to this truck, would the stealers%$it still be the ones to provide factory settings? if not can we input these manually ?

RE: X15E3 CM2350 Cruise Control fault (Yesterday )BAMtech Wrote: .. ----------------------------- What your asking is equivalent to someone asking me ... "I lost my favorites links bar on my www browser. All the links got deleted somehow because they got fiddled with incorrectly. - Can you type my favorite wwwsite name it back into it for me ????" and I answer "Sure, your favorites bar is right here... What was the name of the wwwsite that you like so much so that we can type it back in ??".. and the you replay... "I don't know it, that is why I asked you to type it in for me." At this point.. you have no clue what it was.. and I have no clue what it was ... For all anyone knows, it could be Pornohubs or amazons .. its anyone's guess. ----------------------------- Yes, the settings can absolutely be put in manually... via Insite,.. or in CT if the settings are not accessible to Insite. - The issue is that you first have to know exactly what the button addresses, resource locations, button type, etc. info actually is. If those settings were lost, and since every make/model vehicle has different settings for that, sometimes changing even same brand of vehicle, from one year model to the next, its literally anyone's guess as to what settings it actually needs if you don't already have them. If that info is not in any program that you have any more and there is no backup of them anywhere to look at .... then that info is anyone's guess. Someone cannot simply type in settings that they don't actually know. In this case... the vehicle maker is likely the only one at that point who has that original info. This same info/template is what they use if an ecm completely dies and they sell you a new replacement unit. and yes... the vehicle maker should be able to restore the template from when the vehicle was built, as they typically have a backup of it all, possibly even if it is a different engine/ecm. If not then an ECM that matches the make/model for the original engine can be set back to its correct addresses.. and then the info/settings copied over, etc. I.E.> Where the settings / accessing the settings are not so much the issue.. and setting them is not the issue ... WHAT ARE THE VALUES FOR THOSE SETTINGS???>>> WHAT ARE THE ACTUAL ADDRESSES, BUTTON TYPE, ETC. FOR THOSE MISSING SETTINGS ????. If you don't have that info any more and you don't have any program that has that info any more ... then I certainly don't have it, ... so at this point, only the stealers$it likely does ... and now you need to get the info for those vehicle features back from them somehow.
