Raw CM2250 Got a question out of curiuosty. This is a cm2250 built with no emission in a T909 in Australia. What if you you convert a regular 2250 with the old turbo as this one and block egr and dpf and use the file from the pre emmision eng. Or maybe internals are slighty different. What would happen?

RE: Raw CM2250 Did you check on quickserve by ESN what is the factory config for this engine? I might be looking up something wrong, but https://parts.cummins.com offers turbo speed sensor and egr parts for this engine. Even without parts catalog we can tell 100% that this turbo is not from factory!!! We are talking about 2.5 year old engine, I see no reason why turbo would need to be replaced. Factory engine parts are painted over, even the sensors are. Are you absolutely sure that this is pre emissions? Most likely some moron has done an engine killing demandate + VGT delete to kill it even faster. VGT turbo is more effiecient but it costs more, even though in the long run it will literally pay off fuel savings wise. In Aussie market there may be no egr, but there still has to be SCR and other kinds of emissions. https://rawze.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=7677 Read that document if you are interested https://rawze.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=1823 Also this helps to understand If you have read the tech articles in this forum then you will get questions, to get answers or talk more deeply about those topics you should get on mumble server https://rawze.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=53 Let's pretend that this has no emissions from factory, in this case what usage application allows that? Firetruck or military or off road only or something completely else??

RE: Raw CM2250 Lol your right, I put it through quickserve just now and they deleted. It didn’t come from factory like that.

I maybe wrong Some aussie market red engines (9liter for example) that had egr and dpf on other parts of the world had no egr in aussie market, but instead had SCR and used internal egr. https://rawze.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=1823 This truck that you are looking at is 2450 not 2250 . Parts site gives that from esn. Those huge tall exhaust stacks and flat sharp corners front end are no good for fuel mileage. Also lots of bling bling chrome is just pointless waste of money on a work truck.

RE: Raw CM2250 That engine is indeed available like that in Australia. I have a 2019 T909 with that exact engine. Non VGT turbo, SCR only, no EGR or DPF. In fact you can still order that exact engine in a new truck here in Aus, they are currently still available until November when the new emmission laws come in. Engines supplied after this date will be SCR & DPF. Unsure if the updated engine will be fitted with a VGT turbo. The engine in my 909 is rated at 550/1850. So far it has been virtually trouble free. Some small issues with crystallised DEF but nothing much else. Uses very small amounts of DEF (around 1.5% of fuel burn), Cummins have a service letter out to change the file to increase DEF use. There is a serial number range over here that is not meeting the NOX emmision standard. My engine is included in this, however I haven't been forced to update the file so will avoid this as long as possible. Far better engine maintenance wise than the 871 it replaced. There have been issues however with this model, but so far I have dodged the bullet. Cummins will rate them to 600/2050 here
