A buddy of mine and I have been fighting his 2016 389 for a while now. It would randomly die, threw lots of engine codes regarding J1939 and honestly had us stumped. Checked all the battery connections and used a laptop with some software trying to figure out where it was coming from. The worst part about it was how random it was acting. It would run fine for a week then one day it would randomly die up to 12 times and then would not act up again for a week. Long story short it was the terminal on the circuit breaker that was inside the battery box. We got so hung up thinking it was something serious and it was very simple and we kicked ourselves when he finally found it. As one of my buddys says if you hear hooves think horses not zebras. We should have double checked all power first.
