RE: 2250 low rail pressure code
I wouldn't just let any dealership tell me what needed to be checked. I don't own a 2250 but if I did you bet your ass I'd tell them to pull the fuel pump head and verify it has the updated plungers at my expense. Better to spend $500 to make sure it has been updated completely than $30k for a new engine.

This may not mean much, but I called and had kenworth dig up the warranty work. It had 2 tappets and Barrel & plungers replaced at 176,000 miles. Mileage is currently 301,000

Kind of off he subject here, but what would be the best way to get insite? I want to be able to troubleshoot and read fault codes at my shop. Download from {Another Forum}? And what about the connectors?

Well the fuel rail pressure relief valve wasnt even close to specs, we have one on the way and will install in the morning. Thanks everyone for your input!

RE: 2250 low rail pressure code
I just battled this today on a 2250 as well. It has the updated pump head with steel plungers, cam and tappers all checked out good upon inspection, regulator is new, maintains 29000 psi on leak down test. Fitters had 4k miles on em, spun new ones on, gonna try it again in the morning. Any other suggestions?

RE: 2250 low rail pressure code
the fuel pump actuator is a great spot to start. do a high pressure test and listen for any idle change when it climbs in pressure - it should stay perfectly smooth. if it starts to hunt slightly change the actuator.

can also be the check valves in the pump head, did you test em when the head was off?
