RE: Removing Rust the awesome way
That's a badass laser. People just keep coming up with good things to do putting lasers to work.

It's too bad that Cummins, CAT and Detroit can't come up with a Diesel Particulate Laser to zap particulates in the emissions of all diesel vehicles.

This could eliminate precious metals and a footprint on the environment by trying to stick with those dumbass catalytic converters and DOC & DPF cans.

Maybe they could come up with spark plugs that use a pulsing laser to ignite air fuel mixture for cars with gas.

RE: Removing Rust the awesome way
that "Awesome" product is a pip-squeak compared to the stuff we used to use to clean caked-up rust off wire-machines with.
...

I hate to say this guys, but the stuff we used was the real deal. it will make steel as shiny as a brand new piece straight from the foundry.

I used it for years to clean rust from mild steel, tarnished brass and copper, ceramic, and stainless components, but you had better wear some gloves. This stuff burns the hell out of your hands like fire-ants, but it is not dangerous enough to eat through you if you rinse it off.

There are 2 versions, that safer kind -- http://www.emulso.com/catalog1fa1.html?prodid=500289 (mildly effective, but a lot better than those off the shelf products).

and the heavy duty kind (the one i used for years) - http://www.emulso.com/catalog6d6d.html?prodid=500188 (the kind we used. Very powerful and effective).

Just pouring it on will melt the rust of it like your rinsing off some loose dust, but it is not quite strong enough to actually eat into the the metal. I am not kidding what I say it sure will melt the rust off anywhere it touches it in a hurry. We used it for years on water-based wire cutting machines to clean the decks and insulators of all the rust deposits that build up in a hurry under such conditions.

Get a bottle and just dip a battery terminal in it,.. it will look brand new in about 5 seconds.

Be aware though,.. you need to protect the steel right away as soon as you strip it with this stuff, or it will start rusting right back in a hurry. it strips all the oils and organics off the metal too. A rinse with some 3-in-1 oil or WD-40 instead of water will stop this.

Funny thing,..-- I never used it on a toilet lol.

You can buy same as muriatic acid 33% from HD or lowes cheaper and dilute with water 50/50 to same concentration.
It will make it 4 time cheaper.

To save galvanization you have to use light acid. Coca Cola is one to name. Or special formulated to do this work.
