to be honest its the electronics and uncontinously oiled/greased bearings that seem to cause the most issues due to heat.

i know of no electronic that enjoys heat so then they try to cool it with the engines cooling system...so ok now that part is constantly 200-230degrees or more and then add vibrations ontop of all this from the road and engine its just a combination for failure and if you try to overengineer then for the part to work in its most efficient manner it becomes impractical or down right way to expensive to be used.

sometimes i almost wonder if all the parts cooled by coolant were tied into their own seperate system with something more like a pickup transcooler, electric or belt driven pump and electric fan they might lead better lives.

but then again now you add more complexity and parts to the vehicle and more points of failure
