If you truly want an older truck, get one with a Detroit 60 series, or an early pre egr ISX. May cost more upfront to fix it up also fuel effeincy and newer emission trucks really don't like sitting too much based on how much you work. Could be cheaper in the long run, Granted if you buy an old rust bucket you'll be replacing parts every trip.. kind of a flip of a coin.

I have owned N14s and one I put 1millions on and it was running great when I sold it. The one I own now has 1.7 million one it it was inframed at 1.3 million miles still runs great. The worst experience as an O/O was a columbia with a 60 series 14 liter but a lot of people love them. I had an isx is was good but if I buy an older truck why should I have an elog. So the N14 is probably the only old motor I am looking at. I was hoping that cummins got rid of all the emission problems with the X15.
