Prostar cab insulation

Any ideas on how and what to use to insulate the exhaust pipe or the cab oround the exhaust on a prostar? Its annoying when outside temp is a nice 70F and inside is in the 80s for hours. The metal base of the passanger seat reached 115F couple days ago in TX. Now ac pipe burst and im in IN, its gona be 68-70 tonight and im sweating balls here friggin 86 inside

Main heat source is the engine and tranny both heat up the cab a lot. Only thing i could suggest is removing the interior and laying down hushmat or some other cab insulation.

Rockwool mat covered with aluminum attached under cab floor. Rockwool wrap on the exhaust pipe covered with welding blanket and wire straps.

Prostars are particularly bad about letting exhaust heat bleed into the cab. My own truck had those "hot inside the cab" problems so I wrapped the exhaust. It was one of the better thing I did and it made a big difference.

Here is what I recommend...

* A decent exhaust wrap... https://amzn.to/2DKibo2 (I think it takes 2 rolls if I remember right).
* Metal exhaust zip-ties for it every 6 inches or so ... https://amzn.to/2DKCp16

-- The easiest way to wrap it is to actually just remove the exhaust pipe. It is fairly easy to remove the entire exhaust pipe by simply disconnecting it off the back of the turbo, then off the front of the D.O.C., and remove the hanger bolt where it attaches to the underside of the cab (or frame on older prostars) at the mid-point. The entire thing will then slide out and under the back of the truck as a single piece with some maneuvering. This is same procedure you do when you need to replace the flex exhaust section behind the turbo if you want it done right.

I was actually considering, since I'm not using my sleeper right now, stripping it and installing some dynamat or similar product like frost king...the heat turns the roof into a radiator this time of year in Savannah! That and install some clear tint on the side glass and a strip at the top of the windshield. I used some on my Corvette for heat transfer problems in the transmission tunnel and it made an astonishing difference in comfort and road noise. Just some food for thought.

Exhaust wrap? If in doubt, wrap it up lol also another great idea, I agree!

Forgot to mention that exhaust wrap also improves fuel mileage slightly.

Went to international for the woven sleeve behind the doser valve. Only comes as part of the pipe including the flex section and back to the dpf. > $700.
Went with the foil backed rockwool from summit and some metal zip ties.

Did the original section and the elbow to the dpf. Also covered the bunk heater fuel and electrical with insulated tube.

Thank you all! I already ordered the wrap that Rawze suggested, i'll give it a try an probably later i'll install the mat also, was thinking on doing that but always something came up with this truck haha. Thanks all and safe roads!
