2008 ISM 500 CM876 issue
Hi All,

Trying to diagnose and fix my engine. One day it just started to idle rough (vibrating the motorhome) after a few days it started to vibrate every time I try to accelerate until the RPM goes over 1300. After that engine run smooth. No check engine. Engine has 33,000 miles.

I purchased Insite and connected it (my first time so don't know much). I attached two pictures to show what I saw with engine OFF. I didn't run the engine with the Insite connected yet.

Any help on ideas and next steps?

Thanks!

Hi Rawze,

When you say bad delete, do you mean EGR delete? This engine is new to me. I didn't do any deletes.

Is there a way to tell if someone did it before me?

Make sure the dataplate tab in insite matches your engine serial number and CPL that is listed on the valve cover dataplate. Look under the regeneration tab and see if it is disabled. There has to be regeneration history of it's got a dpf. I dont care if it's only got 3000 miles on it, it had to do s regeneration by now. Also make sure you do not have a remote pedal option selected under features and parameters tab in insite. I dont think RV'S have a remote throttle.

Hi Nilao,

I checked and both match. I agree that no regen in 33,000 is not right. My regen light, when driving on highway sometimes will come on for one second and go off.

Remote pedal? The accelerator pedal? It has 3 wires on it,sending signal to the engine in the back. The RV is 45' long.

9 times outa 10 when you get ambient air density codes its because someone has done some playing with the programming. They dont understand how density and CID logic comes into play and the Fueling bounces off the density limits instead of the max fuels for too long.

Reflash it stock or have someone check it out.

Might be a "stupid" question but can I get a file with the latest ECM image somehow and flash it myself?

Here is a picture for the features. Seems that remote pedal is disabled

Should dual accelerator be enabled? Is there a second accelerator on your RV?
