Bug Screens
Spring has turned into summer here on the Canadian Prairies, which means the bugs are out in force. So this morning I put my factory bug screen on my Western Star.
So even though today is ten degrees cooler than yesterday I noticed that on my scangauge (not the KR version) my intake air temperature is now about 35 degrees higher than yesterday.
Would I be better off leaving the bug screen off and wash out the bugs on the weekends?

RE: Bug Screens
Leave the bug screen on otherwise you'll find consistent high intake and coolant temps from bugs and other buildup between radiator and CAC fins. You're better to put up with slightly higher intake temps now than have to pull out the CAC and blow the fins out later.

RE: Bug Screens
I found a snow brush works good to clean the bugs off the bugscreen.
