RE: 2010 Lonestar
Well first week out i have no idea if they effected my fuel mileage as i literally pushed a 25-40MPH headwind/crosswind all week. I can say for some of the weights and load types i was pulling.

Load of bagged rock/sand 77k gross to menards on a normal route sioux falls to omaha few hills that would bring me down to around 55 i climbed up and over doing 60-62 without shifting outa 13th. used to be always in 12th and have to drop into 11th.

went accross i80 east of omaha to des moines then up 35 heading towards Michigan with 62k gross of stacked PVC pipe. so not only did i have a head/cross wind also had a million little parachutes. most hills across there would have had me in 11th to 10th to climb never left 13th from omaha to des moines

came back down from Kingsford MI to des moines with 78k gross of tarped siding wind was bad enough it was toppling trees into power lines as i had to change my fuel stop due to no power ;<. running 58ish even with the wind on MI/WI 2 lane she seemed to do awesome 67-70 on I39 with the wind was rough but she sat in 13th and held her own.

so to cap it off...i got some pulling power now. now if mother nature would just piss off and let me have some nice weather to drive in im gona say i probably gained fuel mileage overall.

Runs about
1475ish RPM - 65MPH
1575ish RPM - 70MPH
1675ish RPM - 75MPH

my liometer is way off and i rarely get a chance to fill my tanks so its hard to judge actual fuel mileage perfect.

but my Liometer always used to hang around a 3.5 3.6 Avg and now its running around 4.0 average and with the average i figoure its reading about 1.3-1.5 low. and i usualy reset it weekly

so maybe i gained a .5 MPG or maybe the avg just simply changed idk. if i did gain .5MPG that .5MPG will pay the gears off in 6-7 months at my current MPG/Doller per Mile average.

Bill was 6,300 with 2 brand new drop in rearends 1 ujoint 2 new yokes 2 axles, 4 axle seals, 75/90 syn gear lube and other various parts labor was $768 and i didnt touch a single wrench so im happy with it.

I hope you don't drive those speeds,.. if you do then you need to start working in that next.

RE: 2010 Lonestar
With the type of freight your hauling it’s gonna be tough to see an “average”. Once you get a couple of your quarterly’s filled out you’ll see better where you’re at.
Rest assured you’re doing better than before because of all this crap weather we’ve had but once these winds settle down you’ll have to slow down on the 4 lane if ya really want to maximize those 3:70’s. IMO ;-)

I have LP22's and 3.55's so we're pretty close on gearing. This was the worst parachute load I've had so far - only 26k, but over 30mph it pulled every bit as hard as 48k.

58, 62, 70, it just didn't matter on this one and I struggled and failed to stay above 6 mpg on the tank.

I do wish I could switch to 3.25's when I'm empty though, it would be nice to be able to run 70 and still get high 8's. I may switch to 11r22 when I'm due for drives - I think the small change would just be about right and the compromise should offset whatever rolling resistance difference there is.

RE: 2010 Lonestar
i can tell a decent different between 60 and 65-67 at 60 i can drop to 12th and be something like 1600RPM and around 8-10lbs of boost depending on the breeze. but as far as 65-67 10-12lbs empty or loaded on flats with little wind.

since my pyro wasnt working on outside of manifold i installed it in the doser pipe on friday before bobtailing home.

65MPH 10-15mph cross wind 10-12lbs of boost on flats running 600-650 dungerees granted it stayed around 600-650 even when pulling some hills on the way home at 30lbs of boost pyro never really budged it is nice though to be able to idle it when parked down below 300 degrees and shut it down. before i used the smoke rule and figured i hit the parking break had a smoke then it was time to shutdown.

RE: 2010 Lonestar
So pyro is now installed in doser pipe idle is 200-250 cruising on highway at 67 10-12lbs boost is 600 and on hills 680-700 but at 36-37lbs on a long grade getting down to 45mph for 1/2mile or better had a few of these today highest temps were 700-725. Outside temp a bit above 70. I know being after turbo is going to lag a little bit on temperature increase but really no difference between a 1mile 20-25lb hill pull to a speedo killing 36-37lb pull. Does that seem right?

That's how mine read strapped to the manifold. I just put mine in the down pipe this weekend myself, going back to work tomorrow.

Yes your running to much boost. 32 psi will support a lot of hp. That’s we’re your fuel mileage is going. Shoot for cruising at 7-800 degrees keep it there until power then aim for 900. The less you can get away with on boost gauge the better..
