X15 datalink adapter
I currently have a Chinesium Inline 5 adapter as a paperweight, and I'm wondering if there is an official list of genuine adapters known to work with X15's without breaking the bank Fleetpride wants $1000 for the Usb Link 2 and Red engine maker $1200 for Inline 7. Trying to save abit of money if I can by buy online, but also want to avoid getting a knockoff version for obvious reasons.

RE: X15 datalink adapter
The InLine7 is a USB Link 2 rebranded in black instead of blue. No point spending extra on the exact same thing.

RE: X15 datalink adapter
Try here. {name removed. pm user for info} AFAK it will be actual NEXIQ from them. Not a clone. I have bought from them and use their {name removed. pm user for info}. Which I think is still free but you may need to register. I also use their DiagnosticTroubleCodes solutions service. Not sure of the price now. When I bought, about two years ago a lifetime license was about $200.00. I know most all codes for any system, engine, body, ABS, trans etc. can found on the net with some hunting. But that can suck up time. The info seems to be actual repackaged OEM info as a base and some additional info like wiring diagrams. I think they have to be licensing the info or they would get shut down since they are a commercial business with an address.

Is X-15 has different communication protocol then J1939 or what the reason you can't use Inline 5?
