did top end set yesterday. I found when i checked detent clearance cylinder 2-6 were ranging from 50 to 65 thou. but number 1 was only 25 thou. barred engine over to be sure and still 25 thou.
total clearance set to .276. so i adjusted detent clearance to 32 thou. using dial gauge is it ok to open up total clearance that far.

if that valve seat is that high, and you have lost the proper clearance .. then something wrong somewhere!. You need to boroscope that cylinder and inspect the valves and valve seats!... it very well may be that head on that thing is done for!.
