870 VGT actuator to test for boost leaks?
Can I manually close the air operated actuator with the engine at an idle to create boost and check for leaks?

yes, it will be hard unless you remove the air actuator part though.

you wont wanna go full closed but 80%ish or so is what i do on the 871 with 1100rpm idle to check for leaks.

I was thinking of using regulated shop air plumbed right into the actuator.

should be good spray the turbo side first as making 10-15psi at idle makes the hot side pipes smoking hot in a hurry.
