Turbo question
I have a CM 871 serial #79375733 CPL 2732

My turbo is 4309076RX, assy 3774601

Could I use a 4309077RX, assy 3774602 ??

Someone is taking theirs off and I thought about buying it for a spare.

Thanks

it could cost you a bunch of fuel mileage. Just a warning, seen guys swap them around like that and never get their fuel mileage back.

The more fuel efficient one (for mid-tier, smaller cpl, fuel efficient impellers, but cannot take as much heat) has a 12-point nut holding the front (cold side) impeller on, and the one that is less fuel efficient (for bigger cpl, made for higher HP, designed for more heat and exhaust flow) is the one that has a 6-point nut holding the front impeller in place. that is one way to tell them apart when looking at them.

RE: Turbo question
So if one had a big cpl (3320) it could be advantageous to swap to a turbo from a mid tier(2733)? Has anyone done this?

I've seen a couple guys do it and benefit from it, but the cost of the turbo is so high that it takes a year to get the savings it back. - Best to do it only if you need a new turbo.
