As a company driver, what driving habits should I develop before buying my own truck?

It takes practice and real skill to drive a heavy-duty truck smoothly.

Only time I use the clutch is to put it in gear at a dead stop. It takes skill to shift it smoothly and correctly once u get going.

If it jerks, or shifts hard, or jumps, or grinds, or anything but 100% smooth, proper shifting then it is simply the driver's lack of skill.
