I took apart the cac and washed it out.

There was no evidence of any shavings on the other side of the cac and none that I noticed on the exhaust housing of the old turbo.

Also let the truck run without connecting the driver side charge pipe to the manifold. Kinda let the air push any dust out.

But also from washing it I may have noticed that there are potentially small pin holes in the CAC (unrelated to this incident) so either way looks like I’m due for a new one when I get home.

The leaking on the turbo was not from the face plate o ring, but the 3 little bolts that hold the face plate. They have the metal washer with rubber seal.. they were loose. It was a Cummins rx turbo on the truck when I bought it.



The programming has already been fixed by you.




So, let my post here remind people not to mess with your turbos. Also dealers in Wyoming are insane. They were asking 7k for a turbo ..
