Yeah I tried the 4.x, it plain sucks looks good but it’s not for me
I’ll stick with the old 3.8

history of CT 3 versions that have been seen in the past on the webs ... (a walk down memory lane for me ... I.E.> I have been around a while..lol ).

3.02 is vrsion 3.02.x from 2002. (worked well but corrupted files easily). Floated around the web back in 2010 or so.(worked ok but a lot of support for newer engine missing).
3.2x is vrsion re-branded 3.02.x from 2002.
3.4.x is 3.04.x . (was flaky). seen around 2010/2011 on the webs
3.6.4 is 3.06.4 . (was very stable, worked well). it was found on the webs in 2013 or therabouts.

there was also a 3.12 floating around, I think it was just 3.02 re-labelled if memory serves me right.

3.7.x is actually 3.07.x . it was found on the webs in about 2013 or so.

There was also a 2.7.1, a 3.5.1, a 3.6.0, a 3.6.2, and a few more floating around back in the day.

your 3.8 is actually likely 3.08 ... Been on the webs since about 2014 or so.

then there is ...
3.15.0.20 (from 2015)
3.16.0.9 (from 2016)
3.16.0.13 (from 2016)
3.16.1.000 (from 2016)
3.17.0.000 (from 2017)

The latest ver. relesed in the CT3 series is actually 3.17 (released in 2017). It has support for the unreleased ecu's upcoming, the X-15, etc.... It is still on the engine makers official website for dnload. It is also the best of all the ver3 flavors. It is also the first ver. of CT that I have seen that does not corrupt some of the older incal files.

then there is the ct4 series..
4.0.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2, 4.1.0, 4.1.1, 4.1.2, 4.1.3, 4.2.0, 4.2.1, 4.3.0, 4.3.1, 4.4.0, 4.5.0, 4.6.0, (all made prior to CT3.17 in 2017).

since the release of CT3.17 in 2017, there has also been ...
4.7.0, 4.7.1, 5.0.0, 5.0.1, 5.1.0, 5.1.1, 5.2.0 (.73) ...

And finally the latest ver. of Ct seems to be 5.2.0(.94) right now as of this post according to the red engine makers website. Looks like they have not updated the CT3 series in a while now even though it can still be dnloaded from them directly. It will eventually likely go out of date but it will probably take it a couple more years.

-- just a history lesson for ya.

by the way, CT3.17 can be updated to recognize the latest engines... Here is how...

* Simply 'zip' up the 'c:\Calterm 3' folder on your HDD.
* Install the newest version of Calterm 5.x+, no need to register this new version or anything.
* Restore the zipped up folder that you made.

-== Viola... CT 3.17 is restored and all the support for the latest engines out there are now added to it.
