I forgot its a cm870. Air controlled actuator. Using insite, run the actuator test (on/off) and make sure there is no actuator leaks for the actuator itself all the way back to the control module on the other side of the engine. I had an actuator that would only leak half way through its travel then would seal up at full compression. It would make the turbo surge fairly violently.

I actually caught it while I was troubleshooting another problem and was driving the truck with the dog box off and heard it leaking and skipping around.
I tried to run the actuator test but every time I clicked "Start" it did nothing. I could click "Stop" & it stopped but never highlighted Extend or Retract or delay time.

I need to look for Rawze CAC leak test video. I haven't seen the EGT hit 500. It's a pyrometer strapped to the exhaust manifold at the turbocharger. Mostly it's in the 2 & 300's; 400's on a long climb.
