In my shop Russ has been having problems with cylinder protrusion on the Detroits. Believe it or not one he tore down didnt even have the piston skirt on it! Yes....it ran and when he went to get the inframe kit he was told that was OK! After seeing that I would want an engine I knew was good on the inside. Detroits are cheaper to buy parts for from what I have been seeing and they do have some nice fuel mileage stories to tell. Getting a mandate removal is doable too.

Last time I walked into the local Freightshaker dealer they had at least 8 trucks with blocks that had holes in them.
