Does the CM2350 have a coolant filter??? I have a Buddy with one that swears he does not have a coolant filter. I even sent him a pic of the location on my CM2250, but he swears he doesn’t have one?!? WTF???
I am not familiar with that engine so I just don’t know… thanks, JMBT

Mine def doesn't. When I was over at Rawze's a couple years back, we were making a new O/O inspection vid and I believe that's when he noticed the missing coolant filter. Maybe its a 2350 thing? What type of truck. I'm running a Cascadia.

RE: ISX15 CM2350
Unless I read the wrong info (it was some pdf on a cummins site), they did away with the coolant filters after the newest coolants were developed. A major purpose of the coolant filter was to replenish additives and the newest coolants being used no longer need that, as long as you replace the coolant at the scheduled intervals and periodically test strip.

So, my 2250 does have a filter, but I think the 2350 and up does not.

Edit: I think I was browsing quickserve and found a document titled something like "5411406 Fluids for Cummins® Products Service Manual" and it was mentioned in there. I think...

Edit 2: yup, from section 5 of that document:

Quote:Beginning in January 2013, all Cummins® engines are Organic Acid Technology (OAT)/Extended Life coolant compatible. Coolant filters are now optional.

Most Cummins® engines built prior to January 1, 2013 were manufactured with a coolant filter head. Use of a coolant filter is recommended. After January 1, 2013, coolant filters are only standard equipment on Cummins® engines greater than 15 liters in displacement. If desired, an aftermarket engine coolant filter head from Cummins Filtration™ can be easily installed on most engines with displacement less than 15 liters.

Also, if you search Cummins Filtration's products you'll find very few choices for coolant filters.

My 08 871 didn't come factory with one. It was added after it was bought. If I go to the dealer and give them the vin it shows it doesn't have a coolant filter.
