RE: Water and oil
750k miles I'll have to check hours. Probly bit high didn't have apu till just before I bought it. I can't complain to hard I paid 35k for the 2016 truck with a pinch over 600k miles and a new head and carrier apu. Where my dad bought a 2015 579 with around 550k for 60k this year. And had to transfer his ancient Thermo king over.

RE: Water and oil
I'm thinking possibly the previous owner and lost a bunch of water overheated it baked the o-rings made them hard as a rock and then they just deteriorated from there I could be wrong

RE: Water and oil
be sure to cut the counter-bores and set it to 0.014" - 0.015" and all the other stuff talked about on here ... otherwise you will not extend its life.

RE: Water and oil
Counter bore will be done Tuesday if the new liners arrive from Tennessee in time. Other than that just waiting new oil cooler.

Probly the first Cummins full overhaul to come out of the shop in while as most of the people who get work done can barely afford to replace a steer tire let alone a full overhaul except for the bull rackers and their kitty cat trucks.

what you said to me on mumble scares me badly though. I give that engine a 30% chance of being done right.. 70% chance it comes apart again within 3 years or so. Our conversation screamed that Lack of skill and knowing how to properly build an ISX. I see a Waterloo situation all over again...

RE: Water and oil
I trust he has the skills just it's not the norm for him as most guys who get work done there cant even afford an actual overhaul so most of what he does is patch work to keep things rolling as most of them could never afford to do a proper overhaul yet they can get 5-8 thousand dollar tunes that rip the engine apart yearly and are on constant payment plans to pay their bills.... Vs me I'll come in slap 80% of parts and labor and the last 20% the day I pull the truck outa the shop. Also most refuse to turn a wrench to save their lives. Where I was there tearing the rad out and taking the engine apart saving me labor costs.

Put it this way last 3yrs as owner op I've barely spent anything on anything non business related cept for this year I bought a boat so I have something to do on weekends other than sit at home being a frugal ass. Where most these guys who get their trucks worked on pull up in pickups and other toys worth more than their truck.

Ok. I'm to bored back to waxing the car..
