Needing a little help
I have a 2014 KW T660 with a 2350 ISX in it. I know it has a Cummins reman in it but the ESN doesn't give me any info on the engine and I have no idea what the ESN of the original engine was. I don't have insight yet but it looks like that might be worth getting.

My VIN is 1XKAD49X2EJ320331 and the ESN of the current engine is 8LB004454 and the CPL is 3937. Can anyone give me any info on what I have?

Thanks,
Ron

Thanks Rawze. Yes, it was one of their O/O lease trucks. I bought it in 2018 from Kenworth. The truck had 406k on it but the reman was already in it. Interestingly, the head, turbo, and exhaust manifold were all new components when I bought it, or at least they looked new. The head and exhaust manifold were unpainted and the turbo didn't have any heat spots on it.

Other than that I have no history on the truck or engine.

According to what you found the engine was only a 400 hp engine, correct? Can this engine be turned up to 525 or 565?

not without custom programming.

RE: Needing a little help
What's it pulling I've got 450/1650 doing flat bed I might not be first off the line or top of hill but I tend to pass all but 1 of our 15 trucks when they need fuel getting 5.5-6mpg and I'm getting 6.7-8mpg depending on the weather. The one truck outdoing me is a 2019 midroof cascadia with all super singles and the dd15 with dt12 automated Detroit trans. Other's behind me are couple Coronado's, t800, another t680, dad's 579, and assortment of w9s,379s,389s.

I will say as a tech that has to work on detroits pretty regular and cant stand an auto in a big truck
those dt12 autos seem to be holding in there pretty good and with a dd15 in front of it there kinda solid
But imo ISX15 with a manual any day for me...... I kinda like rowin them gears my self :P

I pull a van and I'm lucky to average over 6.8 mpg. The wind has the biggest effect on my fuel mileage, more than weight of load and terrain, Lately I've been getting much better but I pull an empty container (8000 lbs approx) one way 200 miles, and then a loaded container (12000 lbs approx) back. I've seen my average climb to around 8 mpg doing this. at 400hp the truck is really lacking power pulling hills. I really expected better fuel mileage out of this truck but I guess I should've stuck with Freightliner & the DD15 if I wanted fuel mileage.

I get every bit of 9+ mpg our of my cummins pulling dry-van and reefer freight .. MOST of it is application, how you drive, and truck specs.. not the engine alone.

I could get better fuel mileage if I slowed to 55mph and turned the cruise off but my Freightliner got better than this truck using the cruise and running 65-68 all the time. I usually run between 63-65 now and when I'm hauling freight I don't use the cruise and I keep my RPMs above 1300, usually about 1450. Truck runs much better there and as long as I'm not running the cruise it gets the best fuel mileage I've gotten with it. If I'm empty or light I can grab another gear and drop the RPMs but it doesn't seem to effect the fuel mileage any. Maybe I need you to put one of those custom tunes in mine. Lol
