Egt cm2450
Anyone have any data on the latest x15 normal egt range? Stock engine vs de-man..? I installed pyro after tune, so Idk what it was doing stock.. Im seeing 800° pretty easily, hard acceleration
with gross weight at 34,500lbs on flat ground.Cummins rep has told me that 1100° post turbo was normal, but I was thinking 900° was bad. I'm using stock piping which is a mix of 4" and 5" sections. I feel like this is way too restrictive for a 15ltr.. Maybe that's the issue..? Im hesitant to change tune until I get new exhaust. Anyways I'd love to hear from someone else who is running this engine.

RE: Egt cm2450
who made the programming?.

If it was de-mandated properly, then up to about 1050 post turbo is what you should be seeing max, depending on what is going on, conditions., etc.

What is the max boost that it is getting up to?.. and what is the max oil temps seen?. those are 2 other places to look to ensure things are right.

RE: Egt cm2450
Stock engine should work with stock exhaust
Example My 2500 had a hy35 which is a very small exhaust housing and I have done some mods and my egts where getting way on up there
Change the turbo done a hx35 exhaust housing (which is a bit bigger) and pulled the factory 3inch exhaust and installed aluminized 4' kit
truck will def get up on boost faster and did eliminate alot of the smoke at lower rpm
but egts are unchanged

RE: Egt cm2450
I'm glad to hear that..!! (1050) I havnt let it go past 850 tho. I have my warning light set at 850, and that's when I let out or down shift. I'm set at 565/2000ftlbs. Boost doesn't go above 28psi( needle width below 30psi) I dont have an oil temp gauge, I need to install one. I can read temp on insite, but no gauge. Truck had stupid display, connected to radio and since it didn't work like I wanted it to I swapped it. The oil temp gauge was digital, avail on the display. So now no gauge.

RE: Egt cm2450
Not really sure what max egt is for x15, they have steel single piece pistons
My baby 5.9 has aluminum and cummins says 1250 for 30sec MAX
Aluminum will start to break down
So to be safe id say if it hits 1200 I'd back off it keep below 1100-1150
