You might have luck or no luck like with any other engine.
Check engine repair history with Cummins if fuel pump was updated. If not it's a big question to buy. Chance to got almost dead engine.
Fuel pump is major problem on Cummins with def
If it's a 2012 engine model it should have the 2 cylinder fuel pump and all you need to do is update the plungers and roller tappets. I went from a detroit 60 series to a 2011 isx15 450 and the power is not compatible. The isx15 pulls harder on the hills!! I love the power of the isx15!! I haven't had major issues with the motor and bought it with 455k. I've only put about 20k so far and I only had to swap out 3 cylinder junk pump to a 2 cylinder pump with updated parts. But other than that no complaints. ...
I've got a 2012 Cascadia with a CM2250 and I had to have the Nox sensors, EGR Valve, dpf cleaned, and the harness for the aftertreatment replaced. I guess I'd check for any type of rubbing underneath for the wiring. Mine is an old GTI truck though so I'm sure some of that was probably neglected. Got into it at about 396,000 and I am at 445,000mi roughly. Aside from those issues, it's still running pretty good.
Thanks.
