I am looking at a few engines on Ebay that I could purchase and rebuild to put in one of my truck. It originally had a 2001 isx cummins with no emissions. I found couple of engine engines with few issues one has antifreeze in the oil and another has water in the turbo. I am looking for any advice as to if you think either would be a good candidate for rebuild
If I were you I would get an 870 or 871. The guys on here know them inside out and upside down. The 570 might be a good engine but not a lot of support for it on here.
There's plenty of 570 support. But why not upgrade and get the fuel mileage and jakes of the VG turbo on the cm870 or cm871. Just keep your valve cover to the cm570 so you can stay emissions exempt.

Wasn't there a guy on here a month or so ago that had a 570 and wanted someone to check it out but mr Hagg said he didn't want to work on it?
Mr Hagg worked on my 570, without complaint.
Look on Craigslist , I run a Cm570 and found many whole engines on there.
Chicago and Minneapolis Craigslist.

Ok, I'm wrong about that then. Sorry for the confusion.
I don't know if mr. Hagg gets into tuning cm570 and cm870. I believe unilever's or MommaBurt are the go-to for them.
