pulled my turbo off cm 871 had oil in tube to air charge cooler once removed found oil also in exhaust pipe but no oil in exhaust manifold. I figured seals gone, turbo shop says turbo cant leak both sides, i must have bad head or something. anybody ever seen them leak both sides?

Unilevers

it can certainly leak both side's. find a new turbo shop.
thanks, well its under warranty and their going to replace seals in it but i have a feeling hes going to wash it down and reassemble.
i cant think off any way to check if he does or not
My 1st and only turbo failure had oil shooting out both ends.

mark it with a scribe or scratches, paint pen that would show if disassembled.
Like Uni said, find a new turbo shop.

90% of the non cummins remans out there for vgt's are junk. honestly the only reliable one ive seen so far has been dr. ISX's guy - most last only days
he did split it open in-front of me but not the turbines core section where seals are. i'm picking it back up tomorrow at noon if i invert turbo pore oil in drain port and let sit would oil seep past seal normally? only thing i can think of
It would probably need pressure and heat.
okay i wont bother then thanks
