I put a new ecm in my peterbilt with a cm2250. Made backup of old file with Calterm, put in new ecm but my speedometer is incorrect. Shows me going 15mph at 60. Can anyone guide me on how to fix this with insight or Calterm? Thank you
Did you create a work order with insite to save the settings from the old ECM ? C a l t e r m doesn't get them all, you need a backup with insite as well.

actually, calterm does back up everything including all the truck settnigs.

-- someone must have done something wrong if it is an issue with the programming and not something else.

- Did you verify the part#'s were exactly the the same between the new ecm and the old one?.. There are different revisions of some of the newer ecm's and some people have said it can possibly lead to issues, but I have not verified this myself.

is it just the speedo?.. or other components.. and why did you think you had a bad ecm to begin with?.

Maybe you might be chasing other wiring or truck related ghosts and not a bad ecm all along?

Also0--- if the vehicle is a paccar product (Peterbilt, kenworth, etc).. then unplugging all the batteries and letting the cab controller die, takes a good 20-30 minutes, does wonders for them sometimes. Those paccar cab and dash controllers are notorious for getting glitches in them and killing the power to them is the onyl way to fix it sometimes.

so I have been fighting with this truck since I made this post. Mechanic thought my engine fan issue was my ECM, ended up not being the issue after swapping the ecm.

before we swapped the ECM I followed the directions to backup ECM with calterm. saved the file, swapped ECMS. Everything on the truck works perfectly except the speedometer.

So it started out not reading at all and then the more I drove the better it got.. Above 60mph it would read accurate. So I take it to the shop and have the speed sensor on the transmission replaced and now the speedometer does not read at all. The shop pulled all the wiring from thr sensor to the ecm and inspected it for breaks, ohmed and load tested.. worked fine.

I am at a loss here. Only other thing i can think is to try a new speedometer? This truck is starting to give me a headache
If you connect to the truck and drive it does it show road speed in whatever diag software you have?
My mechanic told me: It didn't show speedo reading in esa, but it showed speed readings on bendix A-com to all wheel speed sensors.

But I can control the speedo with esa and it responds correctly
I’m sending you a pm
The speedometer settings can be altered in insite.

It asks how many teeth on output shaft, size of wheel revolutions per mile and final gear ratio on transmission.
I am testing the truck now, it's showing 0 vehicle speed or tailshaft speed in insite
