Got a brand new peterbilt 389 with the 565 x15. At operating temp at 600 rpm idle it only gets 13 psi oil pressure. (That's what the dash shows anyways) is that what these new x15s do or is that a cause for concern? At 1500 rpm it's at 36 so that's fine.
Always use oem filters and good quality oils I prefer shell rotella brand and run the t6 synthetic 5-40 all year in all my diesel engines.
I wonder if the oil pump maybe bad out of the box? Torn O-ring at the pickup tube? I had the opposite issue at 500k miles, 26psi idle warm and 30-34 psi from 34-38 psi it normally was at 1500+ rpm depending how hot the oil was. Replacing it along with the bearings at that mileage solved it for me..
We don't know what oil or filter on it now best to dump and put oe
And try it again. Also see what insite says for pressures

13 psi is too low.. even fully warmed up.

If should be above 18 psi minimum... but more like 28psi or more.

also you might want to bump up your idle to 700-800 rpm. Mine is at 800rpm.. because I am paranoid and cannot stand the thought of the the top-end possibly being somewhat starved of oil at idle... but that is just me.

so if your only getting 13 psi oil pressure at idle.. something is wrong.
