cm2250 derate - solo_shooter_ - 08-08-2022 I have two cm2250's with revolving emission issues that I can't figure out. these are the codes that keep coming back on one of the trucks; 3376,1713,1922,1921,3714,143,2754,418,3232,2639,3375,2347,1981,3312,1943,559 the 559 code has several thousand counts, 143 has 216 counts and 3714 has 153 counts. does anyone have help they could offer? TIA RE: cm2250 derate - tree98 - 08-08-2022 Why in the world would you let it get to this point?? thousands of counts of 559?? And 16 other codes!!! thats just total neglect. before you do anything else you should take the head off the high pressure fuel pump and look inside to see if its' destroyed. If it is you don't need to worry about the other 16 or so codes because your engine is now a boat anchor. That 559 code is nothing to play around with. You need to toss the other codes on the back burner till you figure the 559 out. I wouldn’t start it at all until I pulled that fuel pump head. If you keep running it you may not see another thousand miles much less thousand faults. RE: cm2250 derate - Rawze - 08-09-2022 Like the others have said.. that 559 code puts the entire engine at serious risk!. It is nothing whatsoever to play around with, and is the biggest concern of them all. Pull the fuel pump apart and inspect it.. AND replace all of its guts (tappets, rollers, plungers) if it has more than 8200 run hours on it.. or more than 400k miles... REGARDLESS of how it looks on the inside... and if it is chewed up internally, then you are facing one h$ell of an up-hill battle ahead for that entire engine ... if it can even be saved at all!. ref: http://rawze.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=1805&pid=15389#pid15389 RE: cm2250 derate - solo_shooter_ - 08-09-2022 I did pull the head off the pump and everything looks like new. RE: cm2250 derate - tree98 - 08-09-2022 I didn't look up all those codes to see what they are specifically. At this point you should run a leakdown test on the fuel system with insite. I'm betting it won't pass so fix that and then in regards to all the emission systems problems just demandate the damn thing BUT ONLY USING A PROGRAM FROM ONE OF THE TRUSTED TUNERS ON THIS SITE. Otherwise It's likely gonna be quite an uphill battle and expensive to get it straightened out after being neglected like this for so long. RE: cm2250 derate - solo_shooter_ - 08-09-2022 I just tested the plungers and the forward plunger failed. I removed the plungers and found the forward crush washer was broke into three pieces and not sealing. I am ordering new guts for it now. RE: cm2250 derate - tree98 - 08-09-2022 Is this a 3 cylinder or 2 cylinder pump? If it's a 3 you would be wise to replace the entire pump with a 2. RE: cm2250 derate - solo_shooter_ - 08-09-2022 It's a 2 cylinder pump. |
