should have 120ohm on actuator side and 120ohm on harness side

So I have 120 on the harness side and 45k on the actuator side.

actuator should have 120 ohms too.

Is this a replacement actuator that was purchased somewhere and not from the OEM/stealert$it?.

I ask that because Volvo Actuators do not have the 120-ohm resistor in them, and they look identical to a cummins because they are both Holset brand.

As far as I know it’s original to the engine. I’ve put about 60k miles on it around the farm since we bought it 3 years ago and it just suddenly started with the check engine light then the stop engine light with the codes I listed.

..

UPDATE… I put a new actuator on and the check engine light immediately went away and it’s back to no codes, active or inactive.

Also Rawze, the old actuator had a RX part number so it wasn’t original. But it had been on the turbo a long time.

Thanks for the update.

Now .. you need to find out what caused that terminating resistor to fail like that. Things like ...

** Someone using high-power (cb or ham) radio gear that is not grounded properly?.

** Alternator noise is higher than normal due to leaky/weak diodes internally?.

** One of those crappy square-wave, or modified-sine-wave truck stop Power inverters?.

-== You get the picture.
