ISX15 oil pump pickup tube screen — is the newer tube upgraded, or just re-tack the s - nlouis - 07-17-2026 One of the known ISX gotchas I keep seeing referencd is the oil pump pickup tube screen breaking loose and ending up in the bottom of the pan and that it's the screen material that lets go, not the tack welds. For anyone who's dealt with it: is the current-production pickup tube any different/upgraded so the screen won't break free, or is the accepted fix still to just weld the screen back on? Trying to know what to look for before I ever have a pan down. Thanks. I would also tend to think that if this was an issue in an engine, the crank shaft damper was likely also going bad allowing for higher frequency vibrations... I.E.> lack of proper replacement of the crank shaft damper at recommended intervals. .. just thoughts. |
