SergeyB give us some details.
How often was oil changes done?
Valves adjusted since it left the factory?

Have 600k on mine cam doesn't look like that.

Looks like the typical ISX problems that happen due to neglect (mentioned in first thread post) to me.

one or more of...
=============

* Not adjusting the valves at 250k miles (or equilivnet engine hours).

...and/or...

* Allowing too much soot or wear metals to build up in the engine oil.

...and/or...

* Not changing the crank case filter often enough to ensure there is never any pressure buildup in the crank case.

===========

I take very good care of my engine. My overhead cam lasted me 1.38 million miles before #6 intake lobe finally started to flake. - I would say that I got my moneys worth. The Injector cam still looked pretty good, but I replaced everything on both any ways + all rockers and shafts.

Just goes to show that if the maintenance and care is kept after, things will last a really long time on an ISX.

I bought it a few months ago from a large fleet. This is only my third oil change. I decided to adjust the valves and saw this((.
Reapare cost me $4k.

Have you looked at the fuel pump head? I see that major damage to a single lobe (the long, narrow gouge) and the first thing that pops into my mind is debris from the fuel pump failure. I'd also be concerned about all my bearings being chewed up too.
