Ok. Thanks. I thought it was rocket science since the truck sat in the shop for 2 days because the tech didn't have a special filter cutter they had to order.

eh????

To cut open an oil filter?

I lay it sideways and use a dremmel and cut-off wheel to gently cut them open about 1/3 way down from where they screw on.

Yes Sir. 2 days. Smh. They wanted to only change the fuel pump actuator, and start her up. I had to ask them to pull the head and inspect plungers. The tech said no one has ever asked him to do it. I called to check on progress the next morning. The manager says. "You made a great call". 30 days later, I'm finally back on the road. Towing plus work 10k bill. Thank God I have a warranty or I would be done for. A freaking fuel pump. ABSOLUTELY INSANE. Any ways, Thanks for all you do. I get that done. I pray that good to go.

A chain tailpipe cutter is cheap and would not add metal cuttings.

I am really unclear about one thing - if the 2012 CM2250s have the new 2 cylinder fuel pump design then why are CM2350s failing? It seems like they would also have the new design...
Can someone explain?

They both are failing if you dont replace plungers and tappets on time.

The 2250's failed dues to bad plungers. then to top it off the rollers on both are failing after about 450K.

I think I talked to you briefly on this once, is there any info on all this what to check for updated part numbers for pump replacement or rebuilds? I have 2 cm 2250s one 370,xxx and one just hit 500,xxx I'd like to look and see it if I have a time bomb and stop it before it explodes!

Also the updated oil bypass valve anyone have the part number on that?
