2015 t680 cm2350 turbo actuator fault question? - Jaielv - 11-29-2018

Anyone who could hey with this issue. 2015 t680 with cm2350 . I’m about 200 miles for my destination and a message pops on my dash stating I have 3 hours before engine starts to deteriorate seek immediate tech support. So I pull over to the nearest truck stop . Connect insite and I get vga actuator not connecting or out of calibration. I got no check engine lights on . So I erased faults and trying to make that 200 miles . Truck runs fine except for fuel mileage but will like to hear any suggest

I don’t know much, but used to drive one of those. The same fault happened to my twice and it actually never derrated. Maybe the actuator was starting to go bad or it was just a bad cable. Never found out since I returned that truck but I think it ran like that for a few more months.

Thanks for the info I really appreciate it only 98 miles to go and don’t see any issues. My question is now should I reload back home or fix it? Houston,Tx to Chicago,Il

What do you mean by “Truck runs fine except for fuel mileage”. Did it suddenly dropped the mpg or you think there’s something else going on ?

I would use Insite troubleshooting tree and suggestions to maybe narrow it down to see if it's worth chancing reloading and getting stuck somewhere. Possibly a loose or bad connector to the actuator? Rubbed wiring? Actuator going bad? If you reload you'll want to know what's wrong so your not just sitting on the road trying to figure it out. Take some time to troubleshoot it. Before you reload or if you have plenty of time to deliver, take some time after reload but before you get out in the midfle of nowhere.

If your really concerned and have tools etc on hand. If your able to unload unload then get to a city or place where you can go to places to get parts or help with maybe Uber or something so if your working on it and need to get someplace your not just stranded. Maybe find a truckstop somewhere in the back where you wont be disturbed much by other people and hold off on taking loads for a bit and spend time checking out your truck. That's what i did when I put in my thermostat.
